Transnet Manager: Supplier Development Job Requirements

Transnet Manager: Supplier Development job requirements are following:-

Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial/ Mechanical / Electrical/) is required.
• 7-10 years of experience in Industry with position such as Quality, Production, Supplier Development, Engineering or
equivalent, Supply Chain, Supplier Development, Supplier qualification,
Supplier audit and supplier
• Special Processes qualification for some scope

* Lean toolbox concepts: VSM, Added Value / Non-Added Value, Waste eradication, Push/Pull Flow, 5S, SMED.
Production Processes knowledge in various commodities: SMW, Machining, Cabling, Welding, Assembly, Special
Processes.

Manager: Supplier Development Job Responsibility for Transnet Job Vacancy

SUPPLIER DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY IMPLEMENTATION MANAGEMENT
• Manage the implementation of Transnet’s supplier development processes, policies, and procedures within TE.
• Manage the Enterprise Development strategy with strategic suppliers, Preferential Procurement spend with strategic
suppliers with good BEE contribution levels for strategic
• commodities and other SD opportunities).
• Monitor TE’s supplier development targets for delivery on Transnet-wide strategy and targets.
• Co-ordinating supplier development strategies across Supply Chain in TE; and
• Ensure the formal commitment from the Supplier Top management are in place prior supplier development.
• Manage program plans that incorporate all the development needs/gaps identified to fulfil production requirements.
• Through regular reviews at domain level and commodity level, ensure the deployment of Supplier Development Strategy.
• Influence sourcing strategy to improve the performance level of TE Suppliers
MANAGE SUPPLIER DEVELOPMENT FOR TE
• Support cross-functional sourcing teams and supplier groups to ensure that ‘Supplier
Development strategy is effective within TE.
• Support sourcing teams with drawing up of evaluation criteria, RFQ documents and
support documents for the high value tender gateway review process.
• Support contract negotiations at TE to drive supplier development targets.
• Devise commodity-specific initiatives targets for supplier development.
MEASURE, IMPROVE AND SUSTAIN PERFORMANCE OF SUPPLIERS
• Consolidate and analyse the performance of the suppliers
• Ensure adequate communication to the suppliers about their Performance (e.g. performance letter, Monthly & Quarterly
performance Review)
• Strongly support the supplier performance crisis
• Ensure proper application and management of the Supplier Performance Escalation
• Contribute to the performance of the Suppliers all along the life cycle by identifying and deploying supplier development
initiatives for the most strategic/critical suppliers
• Adhere to reporting templates and timelines for supplier development data and ensure that all reporting requirements are
met.
• Manage & Monitor supplier development performance within TE structures.
IN CHARGE OF ACHIEVING SUPPLIER DEVELOPMENT TARGETS
• Ensure the consolidation and the analysis of the quality performance (communication to the suppliers, meetings with
Suppliers)
• Propose development and improvement actions and implement them
• Achieve the qualification of suppliers in the Approved List on TE Audits and Special and follow-up action plans.
• Contribute to TE Performance of the suppliers for Project execution (First Article Inspection (FAI) results &
Non-Conformities.
• In charge of development of Strategic suppliers.
• Participate to Sourcing Dashboard meetings.
MANAGE AND DEVELOP A TEAM OF SUPPLIER DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST
▪ Manage, support and coach the SDS team under his/her responsibility
▪ Ensure consistency and efficiency of the activities delivered
▪ Develop competencies of his/her team by identifying the skills required and implement related activities (training,
development, …) to reach them
