Position Purpose:
To provide and maintain electrical and mechanical infrastructure for the Port of Ngqura so as to ensure compliance with the OHS Act. To take responsibility for the Electrical Network and Mechanical installations as the Competent Person, GMR 2(1) appointee, in terms of the OHS Act. To provide support to the Port Engineer in creating long term sustainability plans to ensure continuous and reliable service for the electrical power supply and mechanical equipment in the Port.

Qualifications & Experience:
BSc/ B Eng Electrical / B-Tech Electrical Engineering
Government Certificate of Competence (GCC) as issued by the Department of Labour
Professional Registration with ECSA will be to the advantage and if not already obtained, should be able to achieve within 12
months.
Minimum years of post-graduate relevant experience : 6 years

Senior Engineer Job Responsibility for Transnet Job Vacancy

Provide port infrastructure ahead of demand to create capacity and satisfy development needs.
2 Improve productive use of assets to increase utilisation of port/business unit assets/capacity.
3 Develop human capital to enable Transnet NPA to achieve its goals.

4 Deliver efficient Mechanical Engineering services.
5 Deliver efficient Electrical Engineering services.
6 Implement EMS and SHE management systems with regard to infrastructure maintenance plans to create a safe and secure port environment.
7 Optimise institutional processes for effective performance and delivery.
8 Provide a reliable electricity supply for the Port and its consumers.
9 Provide an effective examination and inspection authority for mechanical and electrical infrastructure in the Port.
10 Conduct maintenance audits and condition monitoring of all electrical and mechanical infrastructure in the Port.
11 The development of and management of capital projects according to the Project Lifecycle Process adopted by Transnet.
12 Develop and review service masterplans for the Port and provide input into the port development framework plans and corporate plans as per identified capacity requirements for short / medium and long term planning.
13 Management of electrical and mechanical infrastructure staff and providing coaching and mentoring to engineers and technicians
